German sculptor, one of the most important representatives of the 'middle' generation, 1948 studied sculpture in Berlin, 1957 prize of the Great Berlin Art Exhibition, after a stay in the USA, he was appointed to the University of Fine Arts in Bremen in 1973. Throughout his oeuvre, Otto explored figurative sculpture and created his figurative images of people from wood, granite, bronze, and cast stone. Many of his works can be found in public spaces in various German cities.
