Accessibility Act Statement
As part of our accessibility statement, we would like to provide you with an overview of the compatibility of our websites with the accessibility requirements set out in the legal provisions.
The accessibility requirements are derived from the Accessibility Strengthening Act (BFSG) and Section 1 HmbBITVO in conjunction with Sections 3 (1) to (4) and Section 4 of the German Federal BITV, which was enacted on the basis of Section 11 HmbBGG.
Information about the service provider
Auktionshaus Stahl GmbH & Co KG
Graumannsweg 54
22087 Hamburg
General description of the service
Auktionshaus Stahl auctions art and high-quality goods from the fields of jewellery, watches, sculptures, antiques, design, lifestyle and collectibles.
Explanations on the performance of the service
Auctions take place in our premises as part of a publicly accessible auction. Participation in the auction can take place in person in the auction room, by written pre-bids, by telephone bidding and in real time online via various live bidding portals.
Status of compliance with requirements
The websites are partially compliant with the Accessibility Strengthening Act (BFSG) and the other regulations mentioned above.
The following parts/content/functions are currently not barrier-free:
- Structure & semantics: Some headings are used purely for design purposes, some tables do not have correct column markup (>th<), and the main area is not marked as such (>main<) everywhere. Correct markup is being added gradually.
- Screen reader compatibility: Individual elements are insufficiently labelled or unnecessarily visible to screen readers. ARIA roles and alternative texts are currently being revised and consolidated.
- Forms & navigation: Some form elements (e.g. checkboxes) do not have correct labels, dropdowns respond too early to interaction, and certain functions are not fully operable via keyboard. Adjustments and corrections are planned to facilitate navigation.
- Contrast & readability: Text links, especially in tiles and in the cookie banner, sometimes have insufficient contrast. Continuous text will no longer be displayed in justified format in future to improve readability.
- Image descriptions: Some images contain both alt and title attributes with identical content – this will be corrected.
Implementation deadlines for non-accessible parts of the service:
We are endeavouring to gradually remove existing barriers by the end of 2025. Plans include improvements to keyboard usability, form labelling, contrast ratios and semantic structure (headings, ARIA roles, alternative texts).
We are currently unable to provide a binding schedule for individual third-party modules.
