Heinrich Buntzen (Kiel 1803 - Kopenhagen 1892) - Sell & Buy
German-Danish landscape painter. After lessons with the Bünsow brothers, B. continued his education autodidactically. He then studied at the Copenhagen Academy under L. Lund and J. P. Möller. In his early paintings he followed Eckersberg's example. Study trips took him to Dresden, Munich and Rome. From 1863 he was a professor at the Copenhagen Academy. He was highly esteemed by his contemporaries for the meticulous elaboration of his motifs. Mus.: Flensburg, Kopenhagen, Schleswig (SHLM). Lit.: Thieme-Becker, Weilbach.
