Max Büchner, numbered copy '420/980', sign. and dated 'Immendorf 95', inscribed 'Alter Ego' and 'Der Bildhauer im Maler ist sein bester Feind', foundry mark by ARA Kunstgießerei Dr. Fritz Albrecht, Altrandsberg. H. 38,5 cm, B. 26 cm, T. 36,5 cm. - Expertise: With certificate of authenticity and guarantee by ars mundi. - Provenance: Private collection Hamburg. - Immendorf is one of most popular contemporary German artists. He studied at the Düsseldorf academy, among others under J. Beuys, and became a close friend of A. R. Penck who still lived in the GDR at that time. I. had his breakthrough with the series 'Café Deutschland'. He was professor among others at the Frankfurt and Düsseldorf universities, and exhibited among others at the Documenta and at the Venice Biennale.
