G. studied at the painting school of P. Guillemet in Istanbul since 1874. From 1876 to 1879 he lived in Italy. Back in Istanbul he worked as stage designer a. fresco painter. 1894 to 1905 he lived in Odessa a. St. Petersburg before returning to his home town. The style of the Russian marine painter I. Aivazovskij was distinctive for the work of G.
