Immendorff 86, lo. le. dedicated 'Für Renate', framed under glass. - Prov.: Immendorff made the artwork for the manageress of the Bar 'La Paloma' in Hamburg St. Pauli, which had been opened by the artist in 1984; now consigned from the daughter of the first manageress. - Immendorf is one of most popular contemporary German artists. He studied at the Düsseldorf academy, among others under J. Beuys, a. became a close friend of A. R. Penck who still lived in the GDR at that time. I. had his breakthrough with the series 'Café Deutschland'. He was professor among others at the Frankfurt a. Düsseldorf universities, a. exhibited among others at the Documenta a. at the Venice Biennale.
