E.H.D., on the reverse inscribed Elsa Haensgen-Dingkuhn. - Hamburg paintress, studied at the Flensburg Kunstschule, 1919-22 at the Hamburg Kunstgewerbeschule under A. Illies, J. Wohlers a. J. Bossard, in 1923 she married the painter F. Dingkuhn, before 1933 she joined the Hamburgische Künstlerschaft, she travelled widely with her husband, many of her paintings feature children.
