Lower right signed and dated Helmuth Macke 1926. - German landscape a. figure painter, cousin of August Makce. He studied 1906-08 in Krefeld under J. Thorn-Prikker, met the 'Blauer Reiter' artists in Munich and the 'Brücke' artists in Berlin. In 1929 he was awarded the Rome prize where he met Schmidt-Rottluff. Mus.: Krefeld, Leipzig, Hannover.
