Edition Volker Huber, Offenbach/Main. 1987. Corten steel with natural rust patina, engraved, welded to a base plate. H. 220 cm, base plate 90 x 67 cm. Signed on the base plate, numbered copy 412/1000. The flat artistic figure of the 'cephalopod', reduced to the essentials, in which the head and feet seem to merge into one another, became the artist's trademark. It is one of his most striking works and can be found in important collections and museums as well as in public spaces around the world - Provenance: Private collection Germany/Austria - German sculptor, painter and graphic artist. A. studied 1957-59 at the Karlsruhe academy under HAP Grieshaber and won the scholarships of the Villa Romana in Florence and the Villa Massimo in Rome. Since 1967 he was professor at the Karlsruhe academy, in 1983 he became member of the Freie Akademie der Künster in Hamburg. A.s works were repeatedly showcased at the Documenta and he won many prizes, among them the Bundesverdienstkreuz adn the Prize of the Biennale of Sao Paolo.
