Lower right signed Aeschbach and dated, verso signed and dated again, designated on the stretcher CCCLXXXVII. - Swiss painter and graphic artist. He studied at the École des Beaux-Arts in Geneva from 1941 to 1944 and at the Académie Julien in Paris from 1948 to 1950. Beginning in 1959, A. turned to the poster artists of Nouveau Réalisme. His later works reveal inspiration from Cubist collages and the influence of Josef Albers; furthermore, letters play an important role as a central visual element.
