Oil/fibre board. 25 x 35 cm. Low right signed H. Duwe. Small pigment loss. - Schleswig-Holstein painter and printmaker, pupil of W. Grimm and E. Hartmann in Hamburg, winner of the Edwin Scharff prize, lecturer at the Kiel art school. He was awarded the Culture Prize of the Landeshauptstadt Kiel in 1981. D. is today best known for the socio-politcally questioning elements of his artworks, and with them, became a well known proponent of post-war realism.
