1970. Silk screen in colours. 32 x 42 cm. Framed under glass. Low left signed and dated Piene 70 as well as numbered 18/250. From the portfolio 'Kölner Kunstmarkt 70' - German painter, graphic artist and installation artist, was one of the pioneers of post-war art and a founding member of the avant-garde group Zero. P. studied at the Munich and Düsseldorf academies, later held a professorship in the USA and exhibited several times at Documenta. The elements of light and fire and their traces play a central role in his work, he created light kinetic works as well as air and light sculptures. In one of his best-known cycles 'Blue Planet', he campaigned for the preservation of our 'Blue Planet'.
