1914/1920. Lithograph in colours. 12,4 x 10,2 cm. Unframed. Lo. ri. autographed Klee, lo. le. Num. 140/300 as well as sign., dat. and titled in the stone. After a watercolour from 1914. The lithograph was published for an exhibition in the gallery Neue Kunst - Hans Goltz, Munic, 1920. - German painter and graphic artist, important representative of Expressionism and Cubism. Studied at the private painting school of H. Knirr and at the Academy in Munich. Study trips to Italy and Paris. Acquaintance with A. Macke, F. Marc, W. Kandinsky and R. Delaunay. Member of the Blaue Reiter and the Munich Secession. In the summer of 1914, he undertook the famous study trip to Tunasia together wit Mache and L. Moilliet. From 1921 to 1931, K. was a professor at the Bauhaus and from 1931 to 11933 at the Düsseldorfer Art Academy. In 1933, K. was dismissed when the Nazi Party came to power and emigrated to Switzerland as a 'degenerate'.
