Etching/Montval laid paper, 31,5 x 22 cm, lo. ri. autographed Picasso as well as watermark Montval, framed under glass. - This print from the Suite Vollard is from the smaller edition of 50 copies with the larger sheet size 50 x 38 cm. The larger edition of 260 copies was printed on sheets measuring 44.5 x 34 cm.In both editions Picasso signed only part of the prints. - The sheet from the 'Suite Vollard' appeared unnumbered in an edition of 260. Picasso worked 1930-37 on the suite, the printer Roger Lacourière needed from 1937-39 to print the series. Because of the 2nd World War, the sheets came on the market only in the 50s. - Literature: Cat. rais.: Bloch 134, Geiser/Baer 192. - Provenance: Collection Wolfgang Brudermüller; thence by descent. - Universal genius, one of the most eminent artist of all times with ground-breaking achievements in nearly all genres, in the most important collections all over the world.
