Oil/canvas, 59 x 79 cm, lo. le. sign. L. Bluhm, min. rest. - Israeli landscape painter of Czech origin. B. studied at the Vienna Academy from 1909. During the First World War he was a war painter at the headquarters of the Austrian army. After traveling throughout Europe, he emigrated to Palestine in 1923. He mainly created landscapes of Israel, views of Jerusalem and other cities, but also portrayed the Jordanian King Abdallah. In 1968 he became an honorary citizen of Jerusalem. Lit.: AKL, Vollmer.
