S. studied in Düsseldorf, Hagen, Hannover a. Worpswede, where she collaborated with Bernhard Hoetger. S. was member of the Werkbund as well as the Novembergruppe. She exhibited in the Folkwang-Museum Hagen, in the Galerie Flechtheim in Berlin a. in New York. In 1933 she emigrated to South Africa. The artist's estate is kept in the Schleswig-Holsteinisches Landesmuseum Schloß Gottorf.- Lit.: Vollmer a. others.
