Carl Steffeck (Berlin 1818 - Königsberg 1890) - Sell & Buy
German animal and landscape painter. S. studied at the Berlin Academy as a student of F. Krüger and C. J. Begas. In 1839-42 he traveled through France and Italy. In 1859 he became a professor in Berlin, in 1880 in Königsberg. Among his most famous students were M. Liebermann and H. von Marées. Mus.: Berlin, Potsdam a. others. Lit.: Thieme-Becker.
