Late impressionist landscape painter. F. studied at the Stuttgart academy under O. Pötzelberger and C. Grethe. He was member of the Hamburg secession. With a scholarship he traveled France in 1936 and Italy in the following year. In 1961 he won the Edwin Scharff award.
