Norwegian landscape and figure painter. D. was taught painting in Christiania by Eckersberg and Bergslin, thereafter in Middelthun, in Germany at the Karlsruhe academy under Riefstahl and Gude and at the Düsseldorf academy under Gebhart and Sohn. He exhibited in the Berlin academy as well as in Munich, Vienna, Düsseldorf and Philadelphia. Mus.: Wroclaw. Lit.: Thieme-Becker, Vollmer, Bénézit a. others.
