Jürgen Brandes (Itzehoe 1922 - Norderstedt 2002) - Sell & Buy
German artist. After briefly studying art history, B. studied at the Academy of Graphic Arts and Book Trade in Leipzig in 1941, and after the war at the HfBK in Hamburg from 1946-50, among others with Ivo Hauptmann and Alfred Mahlau. Besides earning his living as a commercial artist and press illustrator, he was always artistically active and represented at numerous exhibitions. Lit.: AKL, Der Neue Rump, Künstler in Hamburg.
