An Iranian painter and calligrapher, he was one of the key innovators in Iranian art. T. studied at the Tehran School of Fine Arts until 1964. Together with other artists, he ran a leading artist-run gallery in Tehran starting in 1964, which was forced to close after the Iranian Revolution in 1978. Mus.: New York, Tehran
