German sculptor, studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich, the École des Beaux Arts and the Académie Julian in Paris, taught sculpture at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich from 1952-1970, in 1959 he took part in documenta II in Kassel. - In 1982, the city of Erlangen set up the Heinrich Kirchner sculpture park in the Burgberggarten, which the artist himself helped to design.
