Maltese marine painter. Together with his brother, he trained as a marine painter in Paris and then worked in Marseille, returning to his hometown in 1817. His portraits of ships, often shown from the side or in three-quarter view, serve the wishes of the clients for technical accuracy with high artistic skill in lighting, perspective and atmospheric design of the coasts in the background.
