Lewis W. Hine (Oshkosh 1874 - Hastings-on-Hudson 1940) - Sell & Buy
American photographer. H. had to work as a labourer when he was young. Later he was able to become a teacher and began taking photographs in 1903. The living and working conditions of ordinary people, and especially child labour, were his subjects. He pursued decidedly political purposes with his photos. Mus.: New York (MoMA).
