Russian-French landscape and still life painter. A. worked as a talented self-taught artist before he went to Vienna and Paris, only 18 years old. He studied at the Académie Julian under W.-A. Bouguereau and H. de Toulouse-Lautrec. Since 1908 he exibited at the Salon d'Automne and at the Salon des Indépendants. At the outbreak of WW I he went to Russia but returned to France in 1922.
