German painter. B. studied 1994-99 at the Hochschule der Künste in Berlin under G. Baselitz. At the Salzburg Sommerakademie he was pupil of J. Dine. 2088-10 he was professor in Geneva. Formally inspired by Socialist Realism B.'s painting often show disturbing scenarios.
