Louis-Stanislas Lenoir-Ravrio (Paris 1783 - Ivry 1846) - Sell & Buy

L.-R. was the partner of and heir to André-Antoine Ravrio (1759-1814), whose business he took over in 1814. He increasingly concentrated on the wealthy bourgeoisie and customers from abroad, since the French nobility placed fewer and fewer orders. Already in his own time, L.-R. was regarded as an outstanding bronzier of "grande reputation" as it was written in a report for "Musée Industriel" in 1819. Mus.: Geneva (Musée de l’Horlogerie), Brighton (Royal Pavillon). Lit.: H. Ottomeyer/ P. Pröschel, Vergoldete Bronzen, Munich 1986, vol. II, p. 693-695.
