Hamburg-based painter, representative of lyrical abstraction in Germany. Q. studied at the art academies in Düsseldorf, Bremen and Hamburg and was a student of E. W. Nay, Karl Kluth and Erich Hartmann, among others. He lived for a long time in Chile and Spain, Q. exhibited among others in New York, Paris and Santiago. Mus.: Lubeck, Hamburg. Lit.: Der Neue Rump.
