Wilhelm Busch (Wiedensahl 1832 - Mechtshausen 1908) - Artist
One of the most important humoristic German draughtsmen. B. studied in Düsseldorf, Antwerp and Munich where he joined the artist's club 'Jung-München'. After working in Frankfurt for a short time he spent the rest of life in his Lower Saxony homeland since 1878, becoming a maverick. Towards the end of his artistic career he developed an abstract avantgardist style. His world famous picture stories like 'Max and Moritz' make him a pioneer of comic drawing.
