Constantin H. - Provenance: Börge Nielsens Auktioner, Veijle, 23.10.1987, lot 543; private collection Germany; thence by descent. - Danish history, figure and landscape painter. H. studied architecture at the Copenhagen academy as early as 1817, then studied painting under Eckersberg since 1825. With a scholarship he went to Italy in 1835 from where he returned to Copenhagen in 1842. He executed important public commissions, among others he painted the Copenhagen university.
