Oil/canvas, 90 x 112 cm, lo. ri. monogr. and dat. WS 1913. - Provenance: Private Collection Flensburg. - German-Belgian painter who studied at the Brussels a. Ghent academies. Together with J. Ensor and T. van Rysselberghe he was co-founder of the avantgardist artrist's group 'Les XX' in Brussels in 1883. After the German invasion of Belgium in 1914 he moved to Lake Constance.
