Meissen, designed 1766, made during Marcolini period (1774-1814). Classicist clock case with a sitting putto, sculptural garlands, crowning pair of pigeons. Dial and clockwork later replaced, not working. Clock case with crossed swords mark with star. Rest., min. chipped. H. 31,5 cm, w. 24 cm, d. 13 cm. - Literature: Ill. In exh.cat.: Meißner Porzellan von 1710 bis zur Gegenwart, Köln 1983, 208. - French-German porcelain modeller and sculptor, educated at the Royal Academy in Paris, since 1762 in Meissen, cooperated with J. J. Kaendler, after his death solely responsible for the artistic design. Acier is regarded as pathfinder of the classicism in Meissen.
