H. 51 cm. - The Venus de Medici, 1630 rediscovered in Rome and later transferred to Florence, is one of the most popular sculptures of the Antique. Starting as early as the 17th cent. many bronzes of the famous ancient marble are being carried out in different sizes and became coveted items for princely and worldly collectors. The present bronze sculpture is characterized by a subtile modeling especially in the area of the face, hair and feet and shows a deep and warm brown coloring of the patina. -
