Meissen, designed 1919, made 2nd half 20th cent. Polychrome painted porcelain. Model no. '60556'. Crossed swords mark (1 incised line). Min. rest. H. 16 cm. - German sculptor and porcelain designer, completed an apprenticeship at the Meissen porcelain manufactory, then studied at the Dresden Art Academy by Robert Diez. He ran his own studio, but since 1903 he was employed by Meissen as designer. - For the porcelain manufactory he created around 70 figures and groups. Lit.: AKL Saur 32, p. 514.
