Oil/fibre board, 36 x 51,5 cm, lo. le. monogr. W. V. - Landscape painter and graphic artist. On recommendation of A. Lichtwark he was admitted to A. Siebelist's drawing school. He joined the Hamburgische Künstlerclub in 1903. Since 1907 he studied again, this time at the Académie Julian in Paris. He travelled England, the island of Pellworm and Kaernten in Austria. He mainly created landscapes and views of the river Elbe, but also portraits and family portraits. Mus.: Hamburg (Kunsthalle, Altonaer Museum).
