April 1965 with confirmation of authenticity. - Literature: Cf. the painting by van Tol with a girl in a window and and an almost identical frieze with putti below in: Walther Bernt: Die niederländischen Maler des 17. Jhs., vol. III, p. 1185. - Dutch painter from the Leiden school, pupil and follower of his uncle Gerrit Dou. In 1664 he became member of the Leiden painter's guild.
