Oil/canvas, 73 x 100 cm, lo. ri. sign. and dat. H. de Beauvoir 79, on the reverse titled as well as sign. and dat. again. - French paintress, sister of Simone de Beauvoir. B. was taught painting among others at the Académie de la Grande Chaumiere and at the Académie Colarossi. She was introduced to the circle of Jean-Paul Sartre and also met Picasso, Dalí and Cocteau.
