Meissen, the model around 1743, made midth 19th cent. Polychrome painted porcelain. Unglazed bottom without mark. Small rest. H. 16 cm. - German sculptor and modeller, since 1735 the second sculptor in Meissen beside Kaendler, before education in England (casting of plumb, brass, steel a.o. plus works in marble and ivory), thereafter 4 years working for the court sculptor in Dresden Vinage (helped with the statue of August the Strong in the Zwinger).
