Meissen, early 20th cent., the model from 1905. Ornamental u'glazed blue painting. Crossed swords mark, model no. 'W 136', painter's monogr. (underglazed blue). H. 19 cm. - Literature: See Berling 1910, p. 107, fig. 278. - A German sculptor, craftsman and porcelain modeller. Educated at the Kunstgewerbeschule in Munich, was appointed 1898 to teach at the Kunstgewerbeschule in Dresden. He was talented in various ways, created many designs for pewter, furniture, wallpapers, jewellery and porcelain, et al. for Dresden Council.
