1896, oil/canvas, 55 x 40 cm, on the reverse authentication by the daughter Lykke Slott-Möller. - Danish painter and designer. S.-M. studied 1883-86 at the Copenhagen academy and was pupil of P. S. Kröyer. After travelling extensively in Italy, France and England he was head of the Fayence manufacture Aluminia in Copenhagen from 1902 to 1906. S.-M. was one of the important naturalists and symbolists in Denmark before the turn of the century; some of his interiors take up the tranquil atmosphere of the paintings of his contemporaries Hammershöi and Ilsted.
