1968/69. Red earthenware with engobe ground, engraving enhanced with oxides (white, green, blue, black), partially brushed. Numbered copy 26/50. At the reverse stamped: 'MADOURA PLEIN FEU' and 'EMPREINTE ORIGINALE DE PICASSO' as well as inscribed in black 'J.117 B 26/50'. H. 30,8 cm, w. 30,7 cm. - 1946/1947 began a long and very productive partnership between Picasso and the Madoura workshop. With the owners, Suzanne and Georges Ramié and their modellers, Picasso created during 20 years an extensive ceramic oeuvre consisting of outstanding unique pieces and editions with numbered copies. - Literature: Catalogue raisonné Alain Ramié: Picasso Catalogue of the edited ceramic works 1947-1971, Madoura 1988, no. 600. - Universal genius, one of the most eminent artist of all times with ground-breaking achievements in nearly all genres, in the most important collections all over the world.
