Stegemann, unframed. - Provenance: From the collection of Elisabeth Detlefs, a friend of the artist, sold to the Hamburg architect Bernhard Hopp in 1956; thence by descent. - Portrait a. landscape painter. S. studied at the Weimar academy. He was member of the Hamburg secession a. of the Berlin 'Novembergruppe'. In 1943 he lost nearly his complete oeuvre in WW II.
