P. studied 1905-07 at the Königsberg academy under L. Dettmann, thereafter in Munich a. Weimar. In 1913 he joined the Freie Secession in Berlin. In 1921 he settled in Ahrenshoop, 1929-45 he was professor at the Königsberg academy.
