France or Piemont, around 1770. Kingwood and Rosewood veneered on oak. Rectangular body with marble top, the forefeet with bronze 'sabots'. The lower part with 2 doors, the upper part a mirror veneered drop front. Inside are 6 drawers and 5 open compartments. The writing surface is lined with a gilt-tooled red leather surface. Finial frieze-drawer. Dam. to veneers and rep. H. 143 cm, w. 96 cm, d. 36 cm.
