Nancy, beginning of 20th cent. Glass paste in yellow and brown colour tones. Triangular pendant with moulded turtle. Monogr. 'AW'. 6 x 4 cm. - - Almeric Walter ranks among the most famous artists of the 'pâte-de-verre' glassmaking technique between art nouveau and art déco that he develloped following the examples of egyptian and roman glass art. He received his training from the national manufactory in Sèvres and begun to work for Daum in 1904, in 1918 he opened his own glass studio in Nancy.
