Design around 1910/11. Silver, stamped '800', Krone & Halbmond, artist signet. Executing prob. Franz Bahner, Düsseldorf or Theodor Müller, Weimar. Comprising 19 parts: 6 dinner knives (l. 26 cm, one with original steel blade), 5 dinner forks (l. 22 cm), 6 dinner spoons (l. 22 cm), dessert fork (l. 18,5 cm), desert fork (l. 18,5 cm). Overall weight without knives c. 875 g. - All pieces verso at the end of handle an engraved coats of arms of Erica von Scheel. She was pupil by Henry van de Velde and married later the painter Ivo Hauptmann. The family of Scheel belonged next to the family van de Velde to the first owners this cutlery series. 10 pieces exhibit at the forward end of the handle an engraved P for the descendants of Family Hauptmann. - For the dicussion of the executing manufacture see Föhl/Neumann, p. 460 fol. - Literature: T.
