Oil/canvas, 70 x 93 cm, lo. ri. sign. a. dat. Karl Müller Hmbg. 1899. - German landscape a. figure painter, called 'Soldatenmüller' because of his many soldier paintings. M. studied at the Dresden art school a. at the Berlin academy. He soon specialized in military subjects but later also painted landscapes, views of the Hamburg harbour, nudes a. portraits. In 1942 he deported to the KZ Theresienstadt.
