Oil/wood, 39,5 x 63,5 cm, min. rest. - Prov.: Kunstsalon Franke, Leipzig, 1933; Hamburg private collection. - We are grateful to Ellis Dullaart from the RKD, Den Haag, for the attribution. - Dutch landscape a. figure painter from a family of artists. He was pupil of his father a. probably worked in his workshop before becoming member of the Haarlem St. Luke's guild in 1639. In 1643 he became ist dean. Occasionally he cooperated with Esaias van de Velde.
