Oil on canvas, 61 x 65,5 cm, lo. ri. sign. a. dat. Hg. Baass 58. - Hamburg painter and graphic artist. B. was a pupil of J. Wohlers and I. Hauptmann at the Hamburg Landeskunstschule after 1945. Following his studies, he was assigned different advertising posters and paintings in the public space, such as the wall paintings at Hamburg urban railway station 'Landungsbruecken'. B. travelled to France regularly and was a member of the Paris Autumn Salon. Within his work B. often had a focus on the light spectrum and the relations between light and space.
