Munich, around 1915. Bronze with black and dark brown patina. In the centre of the base sign. 'Franz von Stuck' and a later dedication plaque of the Rheinstahl Hanomag AG. Sidewards foundry mark: 'Priessmann Bauer & Co München'. Min. points of oxidation. Total height 67 cm. - The bronze sculpture has been presented by Stuck first in 1893 at the 'Glaspalast München'. It ranks among the earliest sculptural works of the artist. 23 exemplars are known so far. The present cast must be executed probably around 1915, because at that time all the casts are made by the foundry Priessmann. Comp.: Exhib.Cat.
